WHO IS TDM?

At the start of our manufacturing experience in the 1950's, Thermal Devices and Manufacturing began building infrared ovens for the automotive industry. As a Michigan company in the heart of automotive production, building these ovens helped catapult us into being a dynamic and adaptable company in the age of constant technological advances.

In the 1980's, Thermal Devices and Manufacturing was acquired by Commerce Controls, Inc. We then became recognized as Thermal Designs and Manufacturing and continued our work in Infrared Technology. With our advanced design skills, we patented a design for the Infra-Arm, a mobile infrared device for a variety of uses.

As automotive factories continued to innovate their processes, we were forced to shift our capabilities due to infrared ovens slowing in demand. Nearing the 2000's, our biggest focus was building electrical enclosures. Our expertise enabled us to build enclosures from small to large dimensions while offering custom finishes in-house with wet paint or powder coat per customer request. While our parent company specializing in wiring enclosures, we were a large supplier for much of their client base.

In recent years, Thermal Designs and Manufacturing has become more flexible and agile in our workload. With over 250+ years in combined manufacturing experience, we have taken on a more diverse workload and now operate as a fully custom fabricator. We cater to specialized OEM work while continuing with our electrical enclosure client base. As the future of industrial automation continues to change and grow, we are proud to say that we will always grow with it.
